The demonstration/test site is now running and gives you the first impression of what the finished library will look like. The first books will be online within this demonstration by the end of January 2003. The e-text center lists most of the e-texts we have collected to date, many more are being worked on.

The mission of the Worldwide-Library is to make as many books as possible available over the internet and that these may be downloaded without charge as either e-books, or in a format that allows the user to print them when required.

The Worldwide-Library is a non profit corporation registered in the UK, set up to undertake this mission.

We are making available a wide range of knowledge, factual, religious, and fiction, including classics, historic documents and many others. We will also be publishing specifically for this library new works, not published elsewhere.
